Prada Infusion de Rhubarbe Review

Infusion de Rhubarbe Review

This is NOT your gentle morning stretch perfume, it jolts you awake like an alarm and asks you to wear something colorful. This scent is crunchy!

When new scents flood the market, I always seek shelter in the Prada Infusion line…and the latest refuge is Infusion de Rhubarbe – Prada’s January 2025 release. Unlike my top two favorites, Amande and Iris, which have soft projections, Rhubarbe whispers sweet nothings but with a playful personality.

Ingredient Spotlight: Rhubarbe

Notes: Green Mandarine, Rhubarbe, Rose, White Musk

Botanically speaking, Rhubarbe is a vegetable but often treated as a fruit – for this I was apprehensive this might smell gourmand or fruity but thankfully it doesn’t. This is where Daniela’s skill shines through. Despite having Rhubarbe as the heart note, the scent is neither gourmand nor vegetal, just beautifully nuanced.

The opening spray has a subtle tartness (most likely from the Rhubarbe) that soon mellows out and becomes airy. The sillage stays close to the skin and lasts for most of the day. On fabric, its longevity is remarkable, lingering beautifully for over 24 hours.

Although this perfume deviates from the powdery signature drydown typical of Prada’s Infusion line, it still has won me over. It becomes more muted & delicate as it develops.

My favorite nose, Daniela Andrier, has made another unique olfactory thrill demonstrating once again that intricate scents can come from few ingredients, with Rhubarbe being the unexpected twist.

P.S. At one point, I thought Infusion de Rhubarbe could be the love child of Baccarat Rouge 540 and Bombshell Glamour…but scratch that – it’s far more intriguing and has a character of its own.
